"Japan-Germany-Italy Goodwill Drawings" is a painting competition organized by

Japanese famous confectionery company Morinaga & Co in 1938, which called for

drawings in a range of children from elementary school students to junior high school

students in Japan, Germany, and Italy. There were about 4 million submissions from

Japan alone, and then about 140,000 children's drawings were sent to Germany and

Italy. Naoko Tanaka has been conducting research on the past and present of

the drawings submitted to "Japan-Germany-Italy Goodwill Drawings".
